Litchfield History Museum to hold family day May 3
LITCHFIELD >> The Litchfield History Museum on Saturday, May 3 from noon to 4 p.m. There will be free games, crafts, and entertainment for family members of all ages during our annual Family Day.
In conjunction with The Lure of the Litchfield Hills, a new exhibition exploring the town of Litchfield during the Colonial Revival, Family Day is going nostalgic. Visitors are encouraged to participate in some of the activities that Litchfield’s Colonial Revival-era citizens enjoyed. Dance around a Maypole, or dress up and recreate an historic tableau. If you prefer to get crafty, you can practice hand coloring of black and white period photographs or learn about spinning wool from Ginger Balch of In Sheep’s Clothing in Torrington. Hands-on activities, including a touch table and architecture bingo, and crafts, will be provided.
Family Day is free and open to the public. Admission to both the Litchfield History Museum and Tapping Reeve House and Law School will also be free on May 3. Call 567-4501 for information.
