Torrington’s downtown is blooming for springtime
Downtown business is at long last able to focus on the final arrival of spring. Bright colorful store windows have swept away the last of the dregs of winter, and welcome shoppers, to explore downtown.
Now’s the time to enjoy a bit of window shopping, stopping by for a coffee and hot cross bun at First Act Bakery, or maybe taking the kids to have their first ice cream cone of the season at S&S Sweet Treats.
For those of you who got a little taste of KidsPlay at the Home and Business Expo this past weekend, you’ll be glad to know that KidsPlay has special extended vacation hours April 14-18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
While the kiddies are out, you have to stop by Toy Jam to say hi to Tootsie, the store mascot.
Should Edible Education be of interest to the young aspiring chefs in your household, Ciesco Catering Service is offering an Edible Education Children’s Passport series, where they will delight in traditional Passover treats and related crafts. Children will receive a certificate of completion and a group photo.
April is the perfect time to capture a memory of your child in their best spring outfit with Iconography, during their Daffodil Portraits at Laurel Ridge. Downtown is also the place for a light lunch at Backstage Eat Drink live, or maybe a quiet dinner for two at Bogey’s.
Don’t forget to make those Easter brunch reservations; there are so many choices of where you can go downtown.
Of course if you really want to feel the pulse of downtown you can go to the official Torrington website, www.itshappeninghere.com which is your guide to all of the upcoming events, and specials that downtown Torrington has to offer.
