In Sheep's Clothing: Me and my shop

I'm Ginger Balch, and as the owner of In Sheep's Clothing Yarn Shop & Fibre Arts Studio, it is my pleasure to  carry only the highest quality natural fibre yarns, and supplies. Books and magazines are always in stock. I have been knitting for over 20 years, and have  worked in yarn retail for over 13 years.Having designed and created knitwear and accessories, you can be assured that you are in experienced hands. My work has been published in the Ashford Wheel Magazine, Spin Off, and the Handwoven on-line magazine. I have also shown my work at  Renaissance of Litchfield, the Norfolk Artisan's Guild, Artwell Gallery, Gallery on the Green in Litchfield, and participated in Chairish the Arts chair ,tour and auction. I am a member of the Ct Handweavers Guild and the Ct Nutmeg Spinners Guild of which I am a former  president. As an experienced Ashford dealer, who spins, weaves and felts, I have hands on knowledge of  looms, and spinning wheels that I sell. I currently have the  Ashford Traditional wheel,  the Joy, Kiwi,  a 32” rigid heddle loom, 16" rigid heddle ,an inklette loom, &  32” 8-Harness loom  working on the floor. I have in stock at all times ,rigid heddle looms of all sizes, including the Knitter’s Loom and inkle looms.  I also stock spinning and weaving supplies, as well as fibres and weaving yarns.Rest assured that if  you need a set of  handcarders, fibre, needle felting needles or maybe an extra stick or boat shuttle, they are here in the shop.I offer classes in all the fibre arts, and am happy to make an appointment with you. To avoid disappointment it is always a good idea to check the website or call before venturing to the shop. There are times when I am closed to work or attend outside events, or give workshops.

One of the things that makes the shop unique is it's location. I am literally, inside and upstairs, in Ida's  bridal shop. After you come into the bridal shop and walk through, you take a right and come up the stairs and then walk back to my bit of fibre heaven. The location takes most by surprise, but once upstairs, you forget where you are and just enjoy what you came for, fibre. A really pleasant surprise, is the very nice view of the street and shops below. The floor to ceiling windows fill the shop with natural light, and Ida's manificent plants are a must see.

Service
I stand behind the products that I sell, and will do everything I can to provide the best service for those products. I am only a call, drive or an e mail away if you have a problem or a question. Since I have personally used Ashford products for 20 years, & sold them for the last 10 years, you can be assured that I can, and will do whatever it takes to make you a happy Ashford customer.
The Website

The website will continue to grow & change as the shop & studio does, so check back often. For those of you  who already do, you will know that the site serves as an ever changing calendar of events, classes & updates. Should you wish to place an order, you may call the shop number or email me and I will get back to you ASAP. I accept checks, MC/VISA, Discover, and PAY PAL for your convenience.

 The Shows
The studio is not only a place where I teach & demonstrate, but also serves as a workplace for me to produce woven goods and other handcrafted items to be sold at arts & crafts shows, as well as other venues. Although I certainly have plenty to keep me busy, I am ALWAYS at your service, and happy to help you. I will be listing a calendar of any upcoming events that I will be at, should you like to see what I'm up to.
